Dr Mainak Das completed his Master of Science (MSc, 2014) at Jadavpur University, Kolkata and obtained Doctoral (Ph.D, 2020) degree from National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar, under the tutelage of Prof. A. Srinivasan defending a Ph.D. thesis entitled “Contracted and Expanded Porphyrin analogues: Syntheses, Conformation, Aromaticity and Coordination Chemistry” followed by a PDRA stay in the same research group working on “porphyrin as a diamagnetic chemical exchange saturation transfer (diaCEST) MRI contrast agent”. In 2020 Dr Das has been awarded the Ulam fellowship from NAWA Agency to conduct research with Prof. Miłosz Pawlicki’s research group at Jagiellonian University, Poland focusing on “doped systems with extended π-conjugation involving triphyrin(n.1.1)”.

In his leisure time Mainak loves to read story books.
